Banana Milk Rice

Let your little munchkin indulge in the subtle and creamier taste of our all-time comfort food. The combination of potassium, fiber-rich bananas with carb-rich rice makes a wonderful filling lunch. It boosts energy and keeps your baby active. This is even suitable for the fuzzy toddlers. Giving Banana milk rice in the night helps your baby fall asleep easily and stay on sleep for a longer time.
Rice being our staple food, we grew up having them at least twice a day. This recipe is one of our lazy day quick-fix items. My children love this recipe still and they prefer this over Idli, Dosa, or Upma, etc. While making for older kids, the consistency of the banana can be a little chunkier.
Servings 1
Cook Time 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Rice
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Banana

Instructions

  • In a small pressure cooker, take 3 tablespoons of rice and rinse it well. Then pour 1 cup of milk and cook it for 3 whistles on medium flame and then minimize the flame to low. Cook for another 7 minutes on low flame to make the rice mushier. (Cooking on medium flame initially is required because milk added in a pressure cooker generally oozes out).
  • Mash the banana in a bowl just before serving the rice. Add the cooked milk rice with this and mix well.
