Healthy broken wheat upma | Dalia upma recipe

Knowing this one easy and quick recipe resolves the ever solved breakfast and dinner puzzle for a day. This is such a quick fix recipe that can be prepared in 20 minutes. Hardly needs any major work except chopping and sauteeing onions. This Dalia upma tastes best when eaten with sambar, coconut chutney, but it can also be served with coconut and sugar. Making is exactly similar to suji upma. However, it's much healthier than suji upma. To make this recipe wholesome, add veggies like (carrot, beans, peas).

Ingredients

  • Oil Little for sautéing
  • 1 Tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 Tps Urad dal
  • 1 Tbsp Channa Dal
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Chopped
  • Curry leaves Little
  • Green chilly 1
  • 1 Cup Dalia
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Salt As required

Instructions

  • To make Dalia upma, firstly heat coconut oil in a nonstick pan. Then proceed with the tampering with mustard, urad dal, channa dal, and curry leaves.
  • Add onions and fry until translucent.
  • Once onions become light in color add preferred veggies and allow it to cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • After 5 minutes add the Dalia and roast for 2 minutes and add the required water in a 1:2 ratio.
  • Allow the water to boil and adjust salt at this point..let the mixture boil for a minute before covering the pan.
  • After placing the lid, simmer the stove and cook for 20 minutes.
  • When it's ready sprinkle shredded coconut if you like and drizzle a tbsp of ghee over it and serve warm.
