3 Simple Meal Ideas for Babies

727

It’s not so difficult to make Baby’s meals just by yourself. To make these 3 simple recipes all you need is a blender, steamer, and pressure cooker. The freshly prepared baby food is not only delicious but also way healthier than the processed, tinned and frozen meals.

These are ideal for babies older than 9 months. All these 3 recipes are loved and relished by my toddlers and they were so mild on their tiny tummies.

Cook Time 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Apple

Instructions

  • Steam carrots along with Apple for 15 minutes. Then puree them in a blender. You can add milk to this puree and serve in case you have introduced milk to your baby.

Notes

I have skipped adding Lemon juice and salt intentionally to avoid them for younger babies. Adding Lemon and salt helps to balance the flavour otherwise.

2.Banana Milk Rice

Let your little munchkin indulge in the subtle and creamier taste of our all-time comfort food. The combination of potassium, fiber-rich bananas with carb-rich rice makes a wonderful filling lunch. It boosts energy and keeps your baby active. This is even suitable for fuzzy toddlers. Giving Banana milk rice in the night helps your baby fall asleep easily and stay on sleep for a longer time.

Rice being our staple food, we grew up having them at least twice a day. This recipe is one of our lazy day quick-fix items. My children love this recipe still and they prefer this over Idli, Dosa, or Upma, etc. While making for older kids, the consistency of the banana can be a little chunkier.

Cook Time 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Rice
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Banana

Instructions

  • In a small pressure cooker, take 3 tablespoons of rice and rinse it well. Then pour 1 cup of milk and cook it for 3 whistles on medium flame and then minimize the flame to low. Cook for another 7 minutes on low flame to make the rice mushier. (Cooking on medium flame initially is required because milk added in a pressure cooker generally oozes out).
  • Mash the banana in a bowl just before serving the rice. Add the cooked milk rice with this and mix well.
